Guest 11 - Fab is here!!

Hola world!!

Welcome our guest of the day- beingFab from Shocks and Shoes (she has a very clever pseudonym if you know her real name)!!! Fab is an ex-software engineer and a current stay at home mom to her cuddly toddler. Hers is one of the first blogs I started to read, even before I started my own blog. And not to mention her blog has been a constant inspiration. She is one of the most versatile bloggers I have known. From fashion to health to social issues to books to yummilicious recipes, her blog has it all !! Simple words yet power packed posts is what makes her different from most bloggers. Her talent is in the fact that she can make the most mundane topics extremely interesting and fun to read. Oh yes and not to miss our mutual admiration and love for Bones (yes yes the TV show) and the adorable cat Garfield makes her all the more special :D :D
She has been very kind to agree to do a post for me and am so glad to present the first recipe on my blog (yes not my own but its definitely the first). Lets go over to what she has for us today-

Hello there, fellow Dreams n Drama readers!! I am extremely happy and honored to be guest posting on Swarnali’s blog!! She is a very talented person (as you already know) and I’m sure she’s going to be a name to reckon with in the blogging/writing world!! Her posts are interesting and you can always look forward to something new to read! She has been very sweet to let me put my little recipe on her blog J. This is a recipe I’ve adapted and modified a bit from Parragon’s ‘The Big Book of Baking’.

Chocolate Chip Cookies!!
(makes about 15-17 medium sized cookies)

What you’ll need:

1. 175 g plain flour
2. 125 g unsalted butter (at room temperature)
3. 100 g light brown sugar (I don’t like my cookies too sweet, if you want you can increase the amount)
4. 1 tsp baking powder
5. ½ tsp vanilla essence
6. 1 egg (at room temperature)
7. 150 g chocolate chips

What you’re going to do:

1. Sift the flour and baking powder together.

2. In a bowl, add the sugar and butter and whisk till smooth.

3. Add the egg and whisk well. Add the vanilla essence and mix again.

4. Add the flour mix a little by little and keep whisking till everything has been well incorporated.

5. Add the chocolate chips and mix well. At this point, you’ll have something in between a liquid batter and a firm dough – more of a sticky cookie dough!

6. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.

7. Grease your baking tin and put a tablespoonful of cookie dough on it. Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon into a circular shape. Do not press too hard. Make sure there is enough space between the cookies so they can spread while baking.

8. Bake the cookies for 10 – 12 minutes, till they’re brown. (Mine got a bit burnt, which is why they’re a little too brown J)

9. Once out of the oven, wait for a minute and then slowly take out the cookies and cool them completely on a wire rack.

10. Enjoy them with a glass of cold milk!!

These cookies are more fudgy than biscuit-y. If you feel they’re undercooked, don’t worry – that is exactly how they should be!!

Do try out the recipe!! Farewell everyone, and as a parting shot, a little dose of Garfield J
